• Parental Approval: All retaining players must have documented prior approval from their parents or guardians before being locked into a roster.

• Roster Limits: Teams are permitted a maximum of 3 Retention Players and 2 Alternates.

• Alternate Usage: Alternate players will strictly serve to replace primary retainers if they become unavailable. Any additional players submitted beyond these limits will not be accepted and will be returned to the general player pool.

• Coach Accountability: It is the coach's sole responsibility to verify player eligibility and sign-up status prior to submission.

• Roster Changes: Changes to your retaining players list must be finalized at least 24 hours before the draft.

• Draft Order Impact: Please note that player retention directly affects your team's draft order placement. (For full structural details, refer to the official HDYSL Bylaws regarding draft procedures.)

To uphold the principles of sportsmanship, fair play, and mutual respect among players, coaches, officials, and spectators, the following Code of Conduct has been established for all Cal South-sponsored competitions.

It is the strict obligation of all program administrators, coaches, parents, and players to create an environment that actively promotes this objective. Those who willfully violate this code jeopardize their participation in the Cal South soccer program.
